First of Four Public Hearings Today in Doña Ana County

Proposed Noise Ordinance and Doña Ana County Detention Center
DOÑA ANA - Today will be the first of a series of four public hearings this week regarding a few issues facing Doña Ana County residents.
The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners is hosting the meetings at various locations to address a recently proposed noise ordinance in the county, and to provide residents an opportunity to ask questions or address concerns they might have with the Doña Ana County Detention Center.
A former inmate at the jail was awarded a multi-million dollar settlement for what a judge ruled was inhumane treatment while he was in custody. The county plans to appeal the ruling.
The meeting schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Feb. 21 Vado/Del Cerro CRC - 180 La Fe Ave.
Noise Ordinance: 6p.m.-7p.m. / Detention Center: 7p.m.-8p.m.
Wed., Feb. 22 Chaparral CRC - 190 County Line Rd.
Noise Ordinance: 6p.m.-7p.m. / Detention Center: 7p.m.-8p.m.
Thurs., Feb. 23 Radium Springs CRC - 10260 Lindbeck Rd.
Noise Ordinance: 6p.m.-7p.m. / Detention Center: 7p.m.-8p.m.
Friday, Feb. 24 Doña Ana Govt. - 845 N. Motel
Noise Ordinance: 1p.m. - 2p.m. / Detention Center: 2p.m.-3p.m.
