First Guilty Plea in Sunland Park Voter Fraud Case
SUNLAND PARK, NM — Former City of Sunland Park employee Priscilla Morales pleaded guilty last week to charges of voter fraud and conspiracy to commit a crime.
She was arrested back in March for registering to vote in Sunland Park, even though she lives in El Paso.
She was one of several charged in the voter fraud scheme, including former City Councilor Angelica Marquez, former City Librarian Luz Vargas, former Senior Center Dir. Silvia Gomez, Mary Anne O'Brien, among others.
Morales was scheduled to go to trial Wednesday, but entered into the plea deal Aug. 29.
