Doña Ana County (KTSM) — Firework stand owners are worried about sales this year as the industry has been hit over the last season due to the continuous drought conditions.
El Paso County has banned the sale and use of fireworks completely while Doña Ana County approved safe and sane restrictions which include ground and fountain fireworks.
Diablos Fireworks Owner said he's optimistic and hopeful people will take advantage of the limited zones where fireworks will be permitted.
"Well it's kind off early in the season to sell, with fireworks we generally get our business the last two or three days, in the next few days we will be able to determine how sales are this year," said owner Jimmy Nevarez.
Anthony, Mesilla and Otero, New Mexico implemented a full line policy that allows safe firework use.
