The Red Cross is working to help a family after a fire at their Lower Valley home. The blaze broke out just before 4:30 p.m. in a back bedroom at a home on the 8400 block of Waterfall and Borrett. We're told everyone inside was evacuated safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire caused $30,000 worth of damage.

An improperly-installed furnace is being blamed for a house fire in Central El Paso. It happened at a home in the 2600 block of Copper. Firefighters tell us when they arrived there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the attic. The fire was put out within minutes and we're told the four people inside at the time were able to get out unharmed.
