VINTON, Texas- A Vinton family will not be spending the holidays at their home after it was destroyed by a fire.
Family members said they heard a loud pop shortly before the fire started at the home on Chisom and Sage at 2 p.m. Sunday.
All nine members of the family were evacuated safely.
The fire damaged a large portion of the house, which the family said was not insured.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about an hour and blocked off a portion of Hickory Road Sunday afternoon.
Red Cross was assisting the family.
West Valley Fire Department, El Paso Fire Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
The damage is estimated at $125,000.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
