Fire Destroys Lower Valley Bar

UPDATE: 7:30 a.m. North Loop between West Drive and Emerson has reopened after an early morning fire in the Lower Valley. Firefighters remain at the Texas Tornado Bar at 7806 North Loop to put out hot spots. No word on what caused the fire.

UPDATE:  6:34 a.m.  Fire investigators report heavy damage from a fire that hit the Texas Tornado Bar at 7806 North Loop Drive this morning. The owner of the bar just arrived on the scene but is not talking to reporters. Customers at a neighboring copy shop talked to us about their fears of the fire spreading to their business.
More details as they become available.

UPDATE:  6:06 a.m.   Firefighters have an early morning fire under control in the Lower Valley this morning.  Crews remain on the scene to put out hot spots.  No word of any injuries.  Fire department spokesman John Concha is expected on the scene soon.  We hope to find out more details on this developing story then.

UPDATE:  5:38 a.m.     The roof of the Texas Tornado Bar has collapsed due to a major fire.  Firefighters have been pulled to a safe distance away.

UPDATE:  5:24 a.m.     A massive bar is burning the Texas Tornado Bar at 7806 North Loop Drive.  Firefighters have shut down North Loop between West Drive and Emerson.  Firefighters are only now getting the flames under control.

EL PASO - Fire is raging at a Lower Valley business this hour.

First reports indicate the fire is burning so hot, firefighters have removed themselves from the building to a safe distance away.

No word of any injuries or of what caused the fire.

18 fire units are on the scene.
