Fifth Day of Testimony Marks Marmolejo Murder Trial

EL PASO - Testimony has resumed on day five of the David Marmolejo murder trial.

Marmolejo is accused of strangling his mother Gloria.

UPDATE: 11:10 a.m. Court resumed with the prosecution calling another expert to the stand.

Professor Terrance O'Connor is an expert on Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

He started by explaining to the jury what electromagnetic waves were and how they related to cell phone towers.

O'Connor said cell phone towers can track you depending on what tower your call pings off of.

Cell phones almost always ping off the tower with the strongst signal which is typically the closest.

The prosecution once agin went over call logs from David Marmolejo and Mariah Wilson.

They put up several maps whch detailed where cell phone towers are in El Paso and which calls hit which tower.

Right now they are focusing in on a few specific calls.
