Nearby the Haskins Center on Glory Field, the 'Franklin Graham Evangelical Festival of Hope' wrapped up its first day.

7,400 people attended Saturday's event, featuring Christian hip hop and rock band as wel as a message from Franklin Graham.

This is Graham's first of many events this year.

Organizers say the festival's main purpose is to unite the local Christian community.

"The festival like this brings churches together, it bring a life into the community, a positive message. It's not proselytizing, but it's basically explaining the historical message of who Christ is," said Viktor Hamm, Vice President of Billy Graham Evangelists Association.

Friday's event was originally supposed to be at the Don Haskins Center, but Graham agreed to move after UTEP's women's basketball team made it to the WNIT Championships.

Saturday's event will be back inside 'The Don."
