According to federal officers, there's an increase of people trying to smuggle illegal food into the United States.

One such incident happened about a week ago at the Paso Del Norte port of entry.

Officers discovered 10 wheels of cheese hidden in the wall of a spare tire; the driver told an officer he had nothing to declare, but had 116 pounds of that cheese in his car.

We're told the driver was given a hefty fine. It's illegal to bring certain foods from Mexico into the U.S.

Customs and Border Protection said they've seen 21 smuggling attempts since december 28th of last year.

Are you freaking serious! Cheese! You guys real put this on the news. Way to go DHS. We need more CPB officers that are go getter! We need to spend more money on our border to stop the guavas and bologna from coming over.

boy your clueless.....pork or any food that have seeds carry parasites which are a danger to out crops not to mention if you bring over a certain amount of cheese it is considered commercial which means you have to pay fine...laws are their for a reason and I think you need to brush up on your federal laws...we have a lot of CPB officers that are good and hard workers don't judge them unless you've been in their shoes
