February is Heart Awareness Month

Wednesday, February 12, 2014 - 5:41pm

Since 2003, the American Heart Association has been setting aside a day called National Wear Red Day. It's held on the first Friday in February every year to raise awareness about heart disease being the number one killer of women.

NewsChannel 9 has partnered with the Sierra Providence Health Network to raise awareness not only on February 7th, but all of February.

Dr. Benjamin Matthews joined us in the studio to discuss heart health in the month of February.
