EL PASO - We've learned that the FBI has arrested two men in a vicious beating over the weekend.

The crime happened at the Old Plantation-- which is considered a gay nightclub, in downtown El Paso.

The attackers used a bat to assault Lionel Martinez, a young man who had just left the club. He remains in critical condition.

Martinez's family contacted Newschannel 9 to report the FBI has arrested two suspects.

Police say the beating was gang-related; the FBI is investigating it as a hate crime.

Excellent Job FBI!!!!

Lets sit back and look at this, the Payaso PD says it was just thugs beating up on a poor victim, the FBI says its a hate Crime. Does the FBI have to instruct the payasos on Hate Crime 101 at the academy? chief, you can do better than this.

So are the police suggesting the gentlemen that was assaulted by the 6 alleged attackers is a gang member?

For it to be gang related doesn't both parties have to be in a "rival"gang for it to be classified as "gang related"?

Its sounds like 6 gang members committed a hate crime on an individual and for the police to consider it just gang related makes their charges less severe.

Hope the FBI takes control of this case and not the police cuz it doesn't sound to me like EPPD cares.
