UPDATED 10:55 am - Investigators say the 54-year-old victim of the crash had some kind of medical condition that caused the wreck.  No specifics are being released.

UPDATED at 10:01am - Sheriff's deputies say the victim is a man who was the only person inside a white Honda Accord.

The car appears to have slammed into a tree.

The eastbound lanes near the 17500 block of Alameda, TX20, will be closed for the next 2 hours.

This is the first fatal traffic accident in El Paso County this year.


FABENS, TX – The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is reporting a fatal vehicle crash in Fabens.

The crash happened at the intersection of Alameda Avenue and R.C. Elam Road.

Eastbound lanes of Alameda Ave. are closed, according to Sheriff's Deputies.
