El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies tell us a 21-year-old woman may have been speeding on Carlsbad Road and veered off into the oncoming lane. At that point, a 19-year-old woman in the same lane tried to avoid a head on collision.
The car smashed into the back side of the 19-year-ol's SUV and both women were taken to Thomason with life threatening injuries. Late Wednesday night, the Sheriff's Department announced the 21-year-old female died after being transported to the hospital.
