El Paso, Texas — If you're looking for a good borderland mystery this Halloween you'll want to make sure you're watching Newschannel 9 Thursday night.
We're headed underground to explore El Paso's tunnel system. According to legend there are upwards of 900 miles of hidden tunnels beneath El Paso.
The entrances to most of them have been blocked off, but there are a few places where you can still get in.
"I've had some tell me they've been out to Horizon City, up into the Franklin Mountains. The gentleman who showed me the tunnel area has been into Mexico a number of times, and if you go north you can go as far as Las Vegas, New Mexico," said Ken Hudnall, a local historian and author of the book, "Spirits of the Border: El Paso A City of Serets."
