Error on Cesar Chavez Express Toll Lane pay-by-mail toll bills

Drivers in El Paso who utilized the Pay-By-Mail process for the new César Chávez Express Toll Lanes between January 10 and February 18 will be receiving their first toll bills from the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority (CRRMA) in the next few days; however, the CRRMA would like to alert users to an incorrect letterhead used in these first toll bills. The entity providing Pay-By-Mail services for the CRRMA (Municipal
Services Bureau, or MSB) said they’ve identified 1,431 invoices that were mailed with the incorrect letterhead. These toll bills identify the incorrect city, regional mobility authority and contact information (phone numbers and website information); however, the transaction information and bill amounts are correct.
CRRMA officials said they were immediately notified by MSB and are working to resolve the issue internally to avoid similar missteps in the future.
Recognizing the confusion this may have created for the area’s users, many of them first time toll users, MSB has decided to immediately mail notices of the error to all recipients of the incorrect invoices, which will include an apology for any confusion. These letters will also explain that MSB has decided to waive all toll charges previously identified on the incorrect invoices. MSB, at their cost, will reimburse the CRRMA for the waived tolls. Note: MSB’s waiver of toll charges applies only to those Pay-By-Mail charges incurred within the timeframe noted above for which a toll bill was mailed with the incorrect letterhead.
MSB’s decision to waive tolls does not apply to drivers who utilize a TollTag account or receive a Pay-By-Mail bill with the correct, CRRMA letterhead.
