This Saturday, El Paso Water Utilities will host the 2013 Water Festival at the Carlos M. Ramirez TecH2O Learning Center, 10751 Montana Avenue, from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm.

The theme of this year’s water festival is H2O Together: Working together means water forever.

The event is free and open to the public.

Despite recent rainfall, the drought continues for our region.

This year, El Paso received only 4 weeks of river water – the shortest water allocation in our region’s history.

Climatologists say the trend may continue.

El Paso Water Utilities invites the public to come learn how we've balanced six sources of water so we will have water tomorrow - without sacrificing what we need today.

This free fun family event will include giveaways, games, hands-on activities, arts & crafts, and a chance to win prizes.

The public will also have an opportunity to try out the interactive drinking water fountain that is featured in our new educational campaign, “H2O Together.”

Scheduled events include:

•         9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm – Tours of EPWU’s Kay Bailey Hutchison Desalination Plant

•         10:00am, 12:00pm  – “H2O Together” Trivia Challenge

•         11:00am – Presentation on Desert Plants, Cacti and Conservation by Dr. Gertrud Konings-Dudin from El Paso Community College
