El Paso was ranked the city with the "Lowest Crime Rate Ranking" having a population over 500,000 according to the El Paso Police Department, citing a report by CQ Press

It's the third year in a row El Paso earns the title.

Chief of Police Greg Allen said this would not have been possible without dedicated
officers and a community willing to report crime and cooperate with police
investigations.

“All El Pasoans should be proud of this recognition as it is truly a reflection of the El Paso community,” he said.

Below are the top 10 cities ranked, based on CQ Press' findings:

If only our Governor would see El Paso this way, that would help clear up the mistaken perception that some people who don't live here have about El Paso. If you go to the East or West coast most persons start to worry about you when they learn that you are from El Paso because they, like our Governor think we are not a safe city. I blame most persons wrong perceptions about El Paso on politicians like Governor Perry who keep spreading outright lies about El Paso. Perry is NUTS! Go El Paso.

...unlike; cincinazi, klu klux Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, .........

El Paso is 82% to 85% Latino...and is one of the safest cities...
..it only when nonLatinos move here, ..bringing their ignorant attitudes, that crime spikes...
El Paso, doesn't need, nor should it encourage nonLatino migration.....

And that would explain the crime rate directly across the border right? Do you not think the large Border Patrol, FBI, DEA, and "oh ya" one of the largest Army installations located within this city would not have any part of the stats you claim to be because of Latino population?

Ese goodbye50's, you are an ignorant fool. I am a proud Chicano, born and raised in El Segundo Barrio but I do not hold the same racist view of non-Latinos as you and I would say that most El Pasoan's do not agree with you. You are expressing a view that is outdated. Yes we are the majority but you need to change your attitude. It is good to be proud of your heritage but not at the expense of someone else's heritage or ethnicity. GROW UP ese! "El Paso-Love It & Everyone in it or LEAVE"
