NewsChannel 9 has obtained a copy of the crash report from the deadly accident in a UTEP parking lot on November, 15th that killed 23-year-old foreign exchange student Achim Schweighofer.

The police report identifies the driver that hit Schweighofer as 20-year-old Madison Wynn Morris. Morris was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma in the parking lot of the Miner Village apartments when police say she dropped a piece of paper and reached down to retrieve it. When Morris looked up, she saw Schweighofer in front of her, but was unable to stop in time.

Schweighofer, an exchange student from Austria, was knocked unconscious and transported to University Medical Center for treatment where he died from his injuries two days later.

Witnesses at the scene say that Schweighofer had been carrying a vacuum cleaner and a bucket through the parking lot when the accident occurred.

Morris stayed on the scene following the accident and cooperated with officials on the scene.

According to UTEP Athletics Volleyball website, Morris is a middle blocker on the UTEP Volleyball team. She is listed as a Sophomore from Lampasas, TX.

There are no charges currently pending against Morris in this crash, but the case remains open.
