EPISD Schools Prepare for Emergency Drill

Fort Bliss officials in conjunction with the El Paso Independent School District will conduct an Emergency Joint Evacuation Exercise beginning at 9-11a.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Milam Elementary School, on East Fort Bliss.

The purpose of the drill is to help train EPISD and Fort Bliss Emergency Management Staffs, emergency service personnel school staff and students.

The joint exercise will include participation from: Fort Bliss Emergency Officer, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization & Security Plans & Operations, installation School Liaison, Directorate of Emergency Services, Safety Office, Public Health Emergency Officer, and EPISD Police Department Staff. Students and staff will be evacuated to a predetermined location and returned to the campus once the drill is complete.

Spectators and those passing near the area should NOT be alarmed, the exercise may appear to be real however, it is ONLY an exercise.
