EPISD Requests Public's Input in Superintendent Search

The El Paso Independent School District asked for the public's help in finding the right candidate to fill the superintendent position.  

EPISD planned on holding community meetings at all of the city's high schools over the next several weeks to gather input about what qualifications the new superintendent should have. 

The first two meetings were scheduled for Monday at 6pm at Burges High school and Chapin High school.

The meeting times are as listed:

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 
Franklin High School, Theatre - 6 p.m. 
Jefferson High School, Silva Health Magnet's Auditorium - 6 p.m. 

Thursday, October 25, 2012
Bowie High School, Cafeteria - 6 p.m.
Irvin High School, Cafeteria - 6 p.m.

Monday, October 29, 2012
Andress High School, Cafeteria - 6 p.m.
El Paso High School, Cafeteria - 6 p.m. Tuesday, |

October 30, 2012
Coronado High School, Fine Arts Auditorium - 6 p.m.
Austin High School, Small Gym - 6 p.m.

Yeah I saw this and I just laughed!! They always say this to us about choosing principals and superintendents but at the end of the day I have yet to see even one suggestion followed that parents, students, and teachers had on their 'wish list'!! I do agree with Darlene that honesty would a welcome change. Unfortunately, of late, the district has done a perfect job of hiring ACTORS who play the role of 'primeros los ninos' 'children first' rather than educators. Rather than these past fiascos,
