EPISD Officials: Federal Money for Schools on the Way
EL PASO - The check's in the mail. That's what school leaders in El Paso told us, when we asked about a federal jobs bill that allocates the money to El Paso.
$10,000,000 is earmarked for the EPISD, at a time when the district is considering major budget cuts. The district's superintendent said the money is nice, but not a real solution to the budget problem.
"This is just a stop-gap. Unless they really fix public education, we will be right here next year with making further and further reductions," said EPISD Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia.
We will let you know when the money arrives for El Paso-area schools.
