More than 40 students from 21 elementary schools took part in the EPISD's Spanish spelling bee this afternoon. The 3rd through 5th grade students earned a spot in the competition through winning their own school's spelling bees.

NewsChannel 9's Oralia Ortega served as one of the three judges, who listened in for the right spelling. The winner of the competition was Cristina Carreon, a fifth-grader from Clendenin Elementary. The runner up was Rada Koile, a fourth-grader from Mesita Elementary.
