EL PASO - The EPISD Board of Trustees has accepted the resignation of Superintendent Lorenzo Garcia effective Nov. 30.

As we have reported, Garcia was arrested for allegedly steering a half million dollar contract to a woman he had a personal relationship with.

The FBI is investigating that Garcia and others conspired to defraud the EPISD from February of 2006 to March of 2007.

Dr. Garcia has been on non-salary administrative leave but getting paid through vacation time and other bonuses.

Now give his 200K salary and pension to the students.,..an eye for an eye you stole from them now we steal from you to give to them.

Great news! We do not need people like this guy in top positions within our city. We had enough of that with the public corruption scandal that happened here not to long ago. I just wish these people would be caught sooner and were really punished harsher than they sometimes are. But I guess that "white collar" crimes are not as serious as other crimes - and yes I am being sarcastic.

THAT LOSER CROOK/PUNK SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED!!!

Finally something good has happened with the EPISD Administration and School Board. I just hope that the board gets its act together and if not that the voters keep that in mind and that hopefully better candidates decide to run for the next available positions. I am tired of hearing so called leaders of our schools proclaim that it is all for the students when time and again they prove that it is really all for themselves and to heck with everybody else.
