HORIZON CITY, TX — A man is dead after investigators said he tried to cross the freeway and was hit by an semi-truck.

Sheriff deputies said the man was hit on I-10 near Horizon Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

He died on the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck is not facing criminal charges.

Crews closed the eastbound lanes of the freeway for more than five hours during the investigation.
