A tip411 app led to the capture of Alexandre Theodore Banta, 26, after he fleed from a halfway house in October of 2012, sheriff's officials said.

Banta was on the run until Tuesday evening when members of the EPCSO/Sex Offender Tracking Unit and Lower-Valley Sheriff’s Deputies captured Banta. Information from tip411 led to his whereabouts. Banta was apprehended after he was spotted at the Cielo Vista Apartments.

Banta was currently on Parole for Aggravated Sexual Assault and Failing to Register as a Sex Offender-Previous Conviction and removed his monitor sometime after leaving the halfway house, investigators said.

He was booked Tuesday evening for a Parole Violation and Sex Offenders Duty to Register charges. Banta remains in jail with no bond. Banta’s victim was a 13 year-old female.
