John C. Reilly and Salma Hayek talk about "The Vampire's Assistant". ..
A new vampire tale hits theaters this weekend.
"Cirque du Freak - The Vampire's Assistant" features an ensemble cast including Oscar nominated actors John C. Reilly and Salma Hayek.
In the film a teen is transformed into vampire and forced to live among a dark carnival act.
Reilly stars as a 200-year-old vampire and mentor to the teen.
"It was a chance to play something different," the actor said. "I've done so many different things that it's getting to be a challenge. At the same time there was a great relationship between me an the young kid, I get to play a mentor figure, I really enjoyed it because it was Chris' first big film."
Salma Hayek is also part of the act, possessing a couple of talents.
"The psychic part of it is just a talent I have, it's not part of the show," the actress said, "The beard is part of the show. They're both sort of useless talents, because the fortune telling, or the future telling, I'm not present when I'm actually telling it, I sort of like blank out."
"The Vampire's Assistant" is based on a series of successful fantasy adventure books.
