ELEPHANT BUTTE, NM - Sheriff's deputies have determined the drowning death of a four-year-old girl in Elephant Butte, was accidental.

It happened yesterday afternoon in the Lion's Beach area.

A spokesman for the Sierra County Sheriff's Office said the girl was swimming with her aunt and uncle when she disappeared; she was found near the lake's shore. Unfortunately, emergency crews could not revive her.

The victim's name hasn't been released, but we're told that her parents live here in the Borderland.

The investigation is ongoing.
