El Pasoans have just under three weeks left before early voting begins in the Borderland for the midterm election primary.

In a highly Democrat County, El Pasoans may be making their final choice for candidate during the primary election. The most highly contested local races include the race for County Judge, which is a three way race on the Democrat's Party Primary between incumbent Veronica Escobar, businesswoman Aliana Apodoca, and City Representative Eddie Holguin.

The trio of County Judge candidates stopped by the NewsChannel 9 studios Tuesday afternoon to tape a debate that will air after our newscast this Saturday, February 1st at 6:30 pm.

Other heated races around the Borderland include the Texas State Representative races in four key districts across town. District 75 in far east El Paso County has Democrat incumbent Mary Gonzalez up against President of the Fabens ISD School Board, Rey "Coach" Sepulveda. District 76, which covers parts of central and south El Paso has incumbent Naomi Gonzalez against former District 76 Representative Norma Chavez and Cesar Blanco, a veteran who previously served as chief of staff for U.S. Representative Pete Gallego.

District 77, which encompasses much of west, central and an area of northeast El Paso will have incumbent Marisa Marquez up against local attorney Lyda Ness-Garcia.  District 79 in east El Paso will have incumbent Joe Pickett facing challenger Chuck Peartree. The only current Texas Representative running unopposed in the primary election is Joe Moody, in District 78, which covers much of Northeast and West El Paso.

Two area County Commissioners seats are also up for grabs, the most notable is in Precinct 4, which was the seat left open by the death of late County Commissioner Dan Haggerty. There are challengers in both the Democrat and Republican primaries for the vacant seat. Other contested local races include County Commisioner for Precinct 2., and the County Clerk position.

You can find a list of all early voting polling places, along with sample ballots attached below.
