EL PASO - Police are warning you of a scam originating from Mexico.

Investigators have received several complaints from El Pasoans receiving calls from Mexico from people claiming to be a family member.

The caller claims to need money related to an emergency or accident.

Only later do victims find out they have been scammed.

If you receive such a call, make one yourself, to the El Paso Police Department at 832-4400.
