El Pasoans Start Back To School Shopping
EL PASO, TX — Many children in The Borderland aren't thinking about their return to school, but many of their parents are.
Back to school means checking their list and checking it twice.
Friday afternoon Basset Place was filled with parents and children shopping for all those back to school must haves.
Laura Haylett says shopping for her three children is the same every ear.
"The school supplies are pretty much the same, so yes I'm spending the same on that. School clothes, it just depends on what the kids like as well, and stuff, and also some schools have uniforms like my oldest daughter is in uniforms, so we will go shop for that,” said Haylett.
Ana Chavez says this year, she plans to make extra purchases.
"A little more I guess because you know,
I have a job now, so now I can save,” said Chavez.
Shoppers in The Lone Star State will be able to make their school supply purchases tax free on August 17th-19th.
