EL PASO - Lent is considered to be a time of sacrifice, as Christians are asked to give something up during the 40-day period.

While El Pasoans attended Ash Wednesday services at their churches today, we asked some what they were giving up for Lent. Some told us, they were still undecided.

"I still don't know yet what I'm going to give up. I'm still making up my mind," said Susana Gutierrez.

John Cordova said, "[I'm] not necessarily giving up something but just trying to open up my heart more."

Lent ends Easter Sunday. This year, that falls on April 24th.
