New additions are coming to the El Paso zoo thanks to a generous donation from Alejandra and Paul Foster, the first donation of 500-thousand-dollars will fund the construction of a tree house playground.

"the cad values came in under what we had originally thought and so it was necessary to dig deep in our budget to find additional cuts, she worked very hard in doing such and she was able to identify 2.3 million dollars’ worth of internal cuts" Zoological Society’s Renee Neuert said.

The second donation totaling 900 thousand dollars is to be divided out over three years, and will allow for the zoo to contract animal specialists for performances in the new "wildlife amphitheater" - a project that is part of the quality-of-life bond initiatives approved by voters last November.
