El Paso Woman Charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter

August 29, 2009 - 6:14pm
Sheriff's Deputies have charged an El Paso woman with intoxicated manslaughter after they say she ran over a bicyclist while driving drunk Saturday morning.
It happened around 10:00 a.m. on the 15100 Block of North Loop.
Deputies say 25-year-old Araceli Nava veered off the road and struck 47-year-old Gustavo Vega, who was riding a bicycle on an unapproved shoulder.
Vega was killed instantly.
Nava allegedly told investigators she had been drinking all night and had her last drink at 6:00 a.m.
She was arrested at the scene and booked into the El Paso County Detention Center.

My Bro. JR, You will greatly be missed. I hope justice is served to all who are responsible for your traggic and unfair death. I also hope this brings out awareness on the responsibilities of drinking and driving. Please share the road with your fellow cyclist.
