There's no time like Christmas Eve to remember your favorite holiday traditions, and to continue them for another year. As the shopping frenzy played out in El Paso today, we were out braving the crowds to ask people to describe what it is that makes this week so special.

"Just family, that's the most important, just wake up with the kids and stuff," said Roman White, an El Paso resident.

"My Christmas deal is every year I try to make tamales with everybody, but i try to get away and then come back in the evening and eat them because i don't like to make them," said Antonio Aguilar of El Paso.

"Making Buñuelos, however they call them in Spanish. They're like crispy thin Mexican pastries. They're delicious. They're really sweet and delicious," added Irvin Casas from El Paso.
