An El Paso police officer crashes his unit into a rock wall while on the way to an emergency call.

The El Paso Police Department says it happened at 9:17a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Lee Blvd. and Pebble Hills Blvd.

According to EPPD, the officer was driving southbound on Lee Blvd., with his lights and sirens on, trying to cross the Pebble Hills intersection.

EPPD says all the vehicles in the area stopped for the police car except for one that kept driving eastbound on Pebble Hills.

The officer reportedly swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle, got clipped by the driver, and slammed into a rock wall.

He was taken to Del Sol Medical Center for minor injuries.

Police haven't released details about the other vehicle involved in the crash.
