El Paso police responded to a deadly pedestrian crash in South El Paso about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
El Paso Police Department Spokesperson Detective Mike Baranyay said that the driver of a Toyota Camry hit a woman who was crossing the street at the intersection of Paisano and San Marcial.
Her name, nor the name of the driver, has been released. It is still unclear if the woman was in the cross walk.
"our special traffic investigations unit will respond out here to the scene, do the best they can to reconstruct the scene, figure out who had the green lights, who had crossing signals and such, ensure that the lights were working appropriately and go forward with the investigation," said Baranyay.
Investigators do not believe alcohol is a factor in the crash, but said investigators have not determined if speed was involved.
About an hour and a half later, a man was killed in a second pedestrian accident in West El Paso.
