El Paso Police and Sheriff's Office Launch Crime Map for City
EL PASO - The El Paso Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's office have launched a crime map that will allow citizens to monitor crime in their neighborhoods.
Through a partnership with Bair Analytics and www.raidsonline.com, police and the sheriff's office are able to map crimes by address and display all of the incidents on a map.
The map includes basic information about the type of crime and what time it occurred. Citizens can also sign up for neighborhood watch reports and receive emails of recent crimes on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule.
The service also people to submit anonymous tips through the website directly to police and the sheriffs office.
El Pasoan Joseph Avalos thinks the service will only help one of the safest cities in the country become even safer.
"It will benefit the city because everyone will be able to see what's going on in their neighborhood and whether or not they should be more vigilant," Avalos said.
The service is also available as a free mobile application through the website listed below.
