EPPD: Images of child porn found on cell phone

A combined unit of El Paso Police Detectives and Federal Bureau of Investigation Agents arrested and charged a Fort Bliss soldier on two child porn charges.

According to EPPD officials, 23-year-old Joshua Luis Acevedo, "promoted visual material that depicted a child younger than 18 years of age (at the time of the image) of the child was made engaging in sexual conduct at 3:48 a.m., June 3, 2013 while in the 11000 block of Sean Haggerty."

Investigators say that on September 11 of this year,  Acevedo, while at EPPD headquarters at 911 N. Raynor, was allegedly in possession of child pornography on his cell phone.

A week later on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, Acevedo was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on Possession with Intent to Promote and Possession of Child Pornography.

Law enforcment officials say Acevedo's bonds totaled $100,000.00. Fort Bliss officials confirm that Acevedo is a Private First Class assigned to Fort Bliss.
