El Paso Man Wins $1 Million
EL PASO - There's a new millionaire in El Paso. A man bought a winning Mega-Millions lotto ticket in the Northeast part of town earlier this month.
"We're so happy that somebody over here won the lotto" Store Clerk Elia Duran said.
Duran couldn't believe a lotto ticket worth $1 Million was sold at her 7-Eleven store. The lucky winner, Kevin Elliott, bought the Mega-Millions ticket earlier this month, and won the second-tier prize in the January 14th drawing. Elliott has requested as much privacy as he can get after winning the money.
Duran says they still don't know which clerk sold the winning ticket. There are five clerks who work at her 7-Eleven.
"So there's a chance you could have sold the winning ticket," News Channel 9's Anthony Garcia said to Duran. "That would be awesome," she replied.
Now Duran wants other El Pasoans to cash in, especially if they're one of her loyal customers.
"I would invite everybody around this neighborhood to come buy lotto tickets here because, as you can see, we got the winning tickets," she said.
The winning store is in the 10300 block of McCombs.
