A train with an El Paso man at the helm has crashed in New Mexico.

A Burlington Northern Santa Fe cargo train crashed into a van near Belen, New Mexico, about 40 miles from Albuquerque.

The train was operated by 61 year-old engineer Hubbard Dorsey of El Paso.

Dorsey was traveling south when his train smashed into a van. Dorsey wasn't hurt.

New Mexico State Police say the woman driving the van tried to beat the train at an intersection.
