EL PASO - City leaders are giving themselves a pat on the back.

At today's city council meeting, Mayor John Cook showered praise on those who helped El Paso achieve All-America status.

El Paso was citedd for addressing community challenges, child literacy and civic involvemente.

More than a hundred cities sought All-America status.

Mayor cook says less than a dozen received it...

"Only ten received the designation as an All-America city. They did not ask Men's Health magazine whether we were an All-America city."

The mayor was referring to Men's Health magazine's ranking of the top 100 most patriotic cities.

The magazine listed El Paso number 99.

*points and laughs* Do these "leaders" actually live here or even go outside their offices? I think the county needs to pay for eye-glass perscriptions for all of them to open their eyes and see what this city is turning into.

I lost faith in this city when i saw someone buying slurpies and munchies with their lonestar card and driving off with foreign plates. *waves goodbye to my tax dollars*
