The Octomom saga has stirred controversy throughout the world. Tonight we've learned the octuplets now have legal ties to El Paso. A California organization is asking the court to step in and protect the children in regards to the money being made off them.
This week they nominated El Paso lawyer Terry Hammond to be the octuplets financial guardian. The petition for a guardian was filed by a group dedicated to protecting child actors and celebrities.
Hammond has handled several high profile cases here in El Paso. He tells us he has not had any personal contact with the octuplets or their mother, but will see her in court next week to discuss the guardianship. That hearing is scheduled for July 27th.
