El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso attorney will soon have something in common with President Harry Truman.
Next week Kathleen Campbell Walker of Cox Smith Law Firm will receive the Founder's Award. It's handed out very sporadically by the National American Immigration Lawyers Association to the person who has had the most substantial impact on immigration law in this country.
"I'm privileged to have the opportunity to practice immigration law. I love it. I love the advocacy and human rights aspect of it as well as just helping our economy," said Walker.
The award hasn't been handed out since 2008. Walker will receive it in front of 3500 of her colleagues during a conference in Boston.
