Preview of Thursday's City Council Meeting

The City of El Paso is looking to save $122,000 a year by not hiring a full-time economist. Instead, they are looking to a professor with UTEP’s Department of Economics and Finance for guidance.

In Thursday’s city council meeting, Council members will decide whether or not to hire Tom Fullerton for a five year term that will cost $188,000. Fullerton will provide economic forecast for the city's top fifteen revenue streams.

The city will also discuss an independent audit report on the El Paso Fireman and Policemen's pension fund from 2008 to 2013.
