El Paso Fire Department Water Rescue Team trains at Balmorhea State Park
Known as the world's largest spring-fed swimming pool, which stays between 72 and 76 degrees year round, the pool at Balmorhea State Park has become the training ground for the El Paso Fire Department Water Rescue Team.
Officials said scuba divers love the clarity, even at the 25-foot depth which makes it a great place to train.
The pool is fed by San Solomon Springs with anywhere from 22 to 28 million gallons of water flowing through each day.
The Water Rescue Team is comprised of 18 fire department members who are specially trained.
