EL PASO - The CEO of El Paso Electric is stepping down.

David W. Stevens reportedly told the company's board that he is resigning to pursue another job opportunity. His resignation is effective March 2nd of this year.

The retired Vice Chairman of American Electric Power, Thomas V. Shockley, will be El Paso Electric's interim CEO.

So he is leaving to pursue another job opportunity, WOW. As if he did not have a cushy enough job at El Paso Electric. They ought to change the name from El Paso Electric to West Coast Electric since the Board of Directors meet there and if I am not mistaken they all live somewhere other than El Paso. I wonder where the new interim CEO lived before being named interim and if he plans to move to El Paso or be interim by comuting, at the expense of the rate payer (as usual).
