El Paso City Council denies request to raise gas rates
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso City Council doesn't want you to have to pay more to heat your home. Council today denied Texas Gas Company's request to increase rates. Texas Gas has requested that the city approve a $1.55 increase per month for residential customers, and a $5 dollar monthly increase for businesses. Under state law, utilities must ask local municipalities if they want to increase rates.
