It's the news no parent ever wants to hear. A seven year old student at an east El Paso elementary school, brutally murdered over the weekend in Juarez.
YISD confirms the boy was a third grader at Glen Cove Elementary.
Some parents we spoke with were shocked, others speechless, but most said it's another reason why they don't want to take their kids to Juarez anymore.
Raul Xazziel Ramirez's body was found in this northwest Juarez street Friday. He had been shot four times.
His father, Raul Ramierz Alvarado, was found shot to death in a car not far off.
According to our media partners at the El Paso Times it appears the boy witnessed his fathers murder then was shot as he tried to run away.
School leaders say Raul had just moved to the U.S.
He lived with his aunt and uncle in El Paso and was visiting his father in Juarez when he was shot.
The school is making grief counselors available to students, and letters are being sent home with parents who have children in that third grade class.
