El Paso Auto Thefts Down 18% Since 2010
According to the City of El Paso, this year has seen an 18% decrease in auto thefts compared to this time last year.
There were 991 in 2010 and 811, so far in 2011.
Here are the numbers released by the City of El Paso:
By Regional Command: 2011 2010 decrease
Central Regional Command 205 260 -21%
Mission Valley Regional 104 142 -27%
Northeast Regional Command 95 74 -22%
Pebble Hills Regional Command 272 342 -20%
Westside Regional Command 156 153 up 3%
A five year review of Vehicle Thefts shows continued decreases:
2006 = 3552 reported vehicle thefts (UCR)
2007 = 3049 reported vehicle thefts (UCR)
2008 = 2753 reported vehicle thefts (UCR)
2009 = 1890 reported vehicle thefts (UCR)
2010 =1552 reported vehicle thefts (UCR)
