El Paso is on its way to becoming one of the leading research centers for limb salvation, due in large part to the ongoing studies of Las Palmas Medical Center.

The 2010 Limb Salvation Conference is being held Friday, September 10 at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center. Medical professionals from around the country will be taking part in the one-day seminars to learn more about how to prevent limb amputation.

Diabetes is one of the major health problems here in El Paso, and in the past, amputation has been a common, though drastic, treatment.
